History of "Whistler Creekside" Whistler Creek was the original ski access onto Whistler Mountain that first opened in 1966. Providing the longest vertical ski decent in North America since, "The Creek" has long been favoured by locals as the place to start and end their ski day. Dusty's Bar & Grill has always been "the" end of day Après for many local ski legends of the Whistler Resort. Recently things have changed, holding on to its history but completely modernized, Whistler Creek is now the focus for the future. Vancouver-Whistler has been chosen as host of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Whistler Creek will be where it all happens. The recently announced ski run expansion of the "Peak to Creek" is now ready for the new ski season.
Access onto Whistler Mountain Enjoy the unhurried access and easy parking from the Whistler Creek Base, access on to Whistler Mountain is by way of a Six Person covered Gondola. Guests of Taluswood access lifts by way of the Dave Murray Downhill and Lower Franz Ski runs. At the Creekside Base, the full range of guest services, ski school registration and ski shops are available.
Franz's Trail Shops and Services Franz's Trail boasts a promenade of boutique shops and services. Starbucks and Internet Café, full service groceries at Creekside Market, Banking, Kids Zone Boutique and Ski Shops and Ski School are all conveniently located with ample parking.
Ski and Board Rentals Choose between two full service ski & snowboard shops, CAN-SKI or Wild Willies Sportshop. Providing guests with the full array of snow sliding equipment and winter comfort. Rentals, Retail and Maintenance options are fully covered.
Après Skiing Famous Dusty's Bar & Grill is where it all happens, pull up a stool at the bar or take over a table for the famous pitchers of beer and mountain high nachos. One of the few Whistler Bars which allow youngsters to accompany parents until 7:00pm. Friday night is always local’s night. There is also a cold beer and wine store located conveniently at Hoz's Pub, another local’s favourite.
Whistler Restaurants Long time traditions and wide selection of dinning experiences are found at Creekside. A must do is an evening of fine dining experience at the Rimrock Café, located at the Highland Lodge. ZEN Sushi is located in Creekside. For the carnivore, the Black Forest and for casual family options try Boston Pizza or El Tipos Mexicanna.
