Whistler's book lovers finally get a new place to hang out, for kids, teenagers, researchers and all readers.
On Saturday, January 25, the new Whistler Library will open its doors to the public with a short ceremony and visit of the new building. And book checkouts will be available right away for everybody's pleasure.
The construction has been on going for months and the building respond to Whistler's green vision with a sustainable site, efficient water and energy systems, sustainable materials and much more.
Books and magazines will be available to read at the library in the lounge or to take home. Kids and Teens will have their own reserved areas with reading space and couches and more. Activities for all age groups will be organized, whether it is story times for the little ones or meeting with authors for the older ones. The public will have access to free wireless internet access and a public access computer centre with all new computers donated by Shaw and internet access and database search capabilities.
The library is a great improvement for the Whistler community but will also be a great place for visitors, with reading space and work stations. Whether you want somewhere to chill after a day on the slopes or are looking for a book for your little one, or you need to work on this proposal for work that was due yesterday, the Library will become a central location for all.
Make it one more reason to come to Whistler! Alpine Vacation will be happy to help you find the right accommodation.
