With the addition of the anticipated Alpine terrain, Whistler Blackcomb increases to 7000 acres. The Symphony Bowl and the Peak Chair opened two days after the Blackcomb Glacier adding another 1700 acres combined ski-able areas.
Due to weather conditions the past few weeks, the crews have been working to ensure a safe Whistler Blackcomb experience for everyone. There are signs posted in each area advising skiers of the current hazards and conditions. Avalanche control teams have also been working and testing the areas to make it as safe as possible for everyone, again advising against going into Whistler's backcountry areas without proper training and guidance.
